Project Runway 4 winner Christian Siriano brought his over-the-top designs and wit to Seattle yesterday as host of a charity auction benefiting HIV prevention.

“I’m trying to do everything I can while people still know who I am!”

In his professional life, Siriano’s philosophy of getting the most out of his fame has clearly worked. The 22-year-old has a line on Bluefly.com, a contract to design costumes for the movie “Eloise in Paris” and plans to unveil a new line at this year’s Fashion Week. Siriano put his celebrity to use for a needy cause at last night’s fundraiser, sponsored by Basil Hayden bourbon.

In addition to donating $1,000 to Seattle-based Gay City Health Project, an advocacy group that promotes HIV prevention through community building, on auction at the event was a men’s vest designed by Siriano that went for $1,500.
