The Ivar’s Seafood Restaurants president has been a tireless advocate for businesses along Seattle’s central waterfront and also served as the public face in the campaign to raze the dilapidated Alaskan Way Viaduct. Bob Donegan walks the waterfront every day, keeping tabs on the demolition while checking in with waterfront business owners. Donegan notes that investors have already poured $1 billion in private money into the waterfront’s redevelopment over the past several years. Donegan is also involved in efforts to deal with the mounting problem of homelessness as it relates to the city’s ambitious waterfront project.
