High times, indeed. We like our marijuana.

Almost 31% of adults in Washington state reported using pot in 2022, the fifth highest in the United States.

Research conducted by personal injury attorneys Siegfried & Jensen analyzed data from the 2021-2022 National Survey on Drug Use and Health to determine marijuana use across every state.

Washington and Colorado were the first states to legalize recreational cannabis in 2012. Sales began in 2014. The Marijuana Policy Project says Washington’s cannabis taxes — 37% at the retail level — are among the highest in the nation. Cannabis tax revenue hit a record $532 million last year.

Did you know that nearly 31% of Washington adults reported using marijuana in 2022, ranking us fifth in the nation?Vermont, the District of Columbia, Oregon and Alaska are the only states where adults use marijuana more. Alabama residents use the least: Only about 14% of adults reported using cannabis.
