Iconic Seattle band Pearl Jam is a big winner at the 2025 Clio Music Awards for excellence in music marketing and advertising. The awards were announced yesterday.

The rock band, founded in Seattle in 1990 and originally known as Mookie Blaylock, was recognized as Artist of the Year because of its cultural impact and groundbreaking creative work surrounding its 2024 album Dark Matter.

The band’s winning work this year:

The combined wins are the most by any one artist in a single year in the history of the Clio Music awards program, which was launched in 2014. The event was originally scheduled in January but was delayed because of the Los Angeles wildfires.

Pearl Jam soared to fame with the 1991 debut album Ten, featuring hits “Alive” and “Jeremy.” The band’s relentless touring and strong live performances cemented its iconic status, particularly with disillusioned youth, and it was among a handful of bands that defined the grunge movement in Seattle during the 1990s.

The Clios were founded in 1959 to celebrate creative advertising excellence. The awards have since developed programs across sports, music, health and entertainment.
