The Washington Huskies just competed for a national football championship. The Seahawks routinely sell out Lumen Field. The Kraken have grabbed the heart of the city.

But the Seattle Mariners are the city’s most popular sports team, at least according to an analysis of search data from Google Keyword Planner by gambling review website Lucky Gambler. Americans googled “Seattle Mariners” on average more than 700,000 times a month last year.

The Mariners, of course, broke a two decade playoff drought in 2022 and finished third in the AL West last year, with an 88-74 record. The M’s kick off the 2024 season with a March 28 home game against the Boston Red Sox.

America’s most popular team? The Dallas Cowboys. Football is by far the most popular sport, amassing an average monthly search volume of more than 57.5 million last year.
