We’re counting down the Christmas shopping days with an editors’ gift guide. Check back daily to find out our must-have items this holiday season.
Everyone has a history buff on their gift list but local fans of Puget Sound history are especially in luck this year with David Wilma’s new book, Historic Photos of Puget Sound (2009, Turner Publishing, $39.95). With nearly 200 black and white photos of the Sound (remember, it’s no “the” with Puget Sound) and its environs, the book features a historic glimpse into this unique part of the world that has anchored our city (images span from mid-1800s to modern time). Author David Wilma has been a longtime contributor to our favorite local history site, Historylink.org, and also co-authored much of the 40th anniversary edition of Seattle magazine in February 2006, with the late, great Walt Crowley.
Historic Photos of Puget Sound is availble at Elliott Bay Book Company, amazon.com and other local bookstores.
