Local eco-conscious clothing designers, jewelry artists and handbags to peruse as you count down to

Let’s be honest for a second: After about 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon, the brain is pretty much shot, and the likelihood of actually getting any work accomplished plummets. So when you need to take a short internet break this afternoon, here’s handy list of local designers who are making efforts to be eco-conscious.
I was privileged to see all these designs in person last night at the EcoLavish fashion show (where by miracles or miracles I did not trip on the green astroturf runway during my emcee gig). Whether they use sustainable fabrics like bamboo and organic cottons, produce their clothes locally or re-use vintage fabrics, these local gals making going green stunningly chic.
– Using water-based inks, the insanely comfy and cozy lounge wear from Revival Ink can actually go from home to grocery store without an embarassing fashion faux paux.
– In addition to her own elegant designs, Lisa Hunter at Vian Hunter House of Fashion also has a killer selection of high-end vintage wear- very Joan Holloway.
– Attention, brides on a budget: Ballard-based Twice Blushed recreates once-loved bridal gowns into master masterpieces.
– In the words of Rachel Zoe, I die over Flutterbudget’s vintage-inspired jewels, using old metal letters in combo with fun jewels and chunky chains.
– And last, meet Reveal, a new Seattle brand using vegan leathers and natural hemp to craft their carry-all totes. You also need to see their bamboo iPhone case.
Now, get back to work.
