It’s no little secret, but Vogue takes fashion seriously. And the Front Row Fashion Show Presented by Vogue was a seriously good time at Bellevue’s Hyatt Regency Hotel on Saturday night. The team at our beloved fashion bible brought their authority on all things fashion from the East Coast to the Eastside, inspiring the mostly female audience (who, by the way, completely dismissed GQ’s notion that Seattle is one of the worst dressed cities) to don the luxe furs, bold colors, and gold sequins that graced the runways for fall. It wasn’t all just for the glitter of the runway: 100 percent of the tickets from the Front Row Fashion event ( which capped off a thrilling Bellevue Collection Fashion Week) went to The Moyer Foundation, a non-profit devoted to raising support for children in distress.

As Vogue editor Anna Wintour mused in their current issue, when we find our world in its current state, do we, “Go for fantasy or reflect reality?” Vogue held this tension perfectly Saturday night, pairing high and low pieces and pulling straight from the Bellevue Collection, so attendees could purchase the items seen on the runway that very night at the VIP shopping event afterward (giving the local economy a cheerful boost). 

We saw wearable clothes with the mag’s signature editorial twist, as models were not only wrapped up with one scarf around their necks, but two. Ogling over the show’s seven themed sets, I was clamoring for my own fur vest and ready to embrace fall clothes with open arms (and an open wallet). Texture was the name of the game, with warm woolen knits and coats, furs, lace, and sequins finding their way into each of their respective collections. Soft knits were juxtaposed with gold and silver sequins, in what was one of my favorite looks and a great trend for a night out in Seattle as the forecast demonstrates the fall chill is here to stay.
