Fashion Friday: Operation + Stitch’s fall line, happenings at Nube Green and a handbag obsession

So, it’s officially fall now isn’t it? (My pants are still damp from my walk in this morning and it is now 2 p.m.) Rather than get bogged down by the puddles, pull out the proverbial mood umbrella and use these cheery new fall offerings to block out the doom:

Around these parts, we love Kate Burt. One of our winning designers from this year’s Seamless in Seattle competition, Burt’s Operation + Stitch line is wearable, urban chic and the perfect blend of casual and sophisticated. And while we were in love with spring frocks, we’re really falling all over ourselves over the new autumn line, which launched on her Etsy site this week. I want this top. I need this skirt. Find her at Velouria in Ballard or online now.

They’ve been busy at NuBe Green. In addition to launching a table setting rental service and their own (seriously awesome) NuBe Home furniture line both in the last few months, next week the new in-house fall clothing line State by NuBe Green also hits the Capitol Hill store. Made from locally-sourced, sustainable and reclaimed materials, the hippie chic collection is devoted to vivid gem tone skirts, meticulously draped dresses and easy layers. Catch the launch at the store next Thursday, October 13.

Last month, I went through my closet and found over 20 bags. Needless to say I have a healthy obsession with handbags already, but it’s been raging out of control since the gals at Free Time Industries sent me a note about Seattleite’s Dawn Smithson’s new Moth & Crow handbag line. Can I justify buying 20 of these? I just might try.
