If you’ve put off getting your yard in shape this spring, there’s no time like the present to learn a few new tricks that might just inspire you to achieve that green thumb you’ve always wanted. If you’ve put off getting your yard in shape this spring, there’s no time like the present to learn a few new tricks that might just inspire you to achieve that green thumb you’ve always wanted. And who better to teach you than Seattle Tilth, the Walingford-based non-profit that teaches people how to garden organically and conserve natural resources in the process. Some of the June class offerings include:

— Container Veggie Gardening
— Composting for Apartment Dwellers
— Dealing with Summer Pests
— City Chickens 101
— Simple Techniques for Preserving the Harvest

Most of the classes run less than four hours and cost $30-40 or so. Your yard–not to mention your familiy members, neighbors, and urban wildlife–will surely thank you later.
