Our top to-do’s for this Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
MUST TASTE
ART’s Chocolate Buffet
Thursday (12/17) · Two words: Chocolate buffet. Need we say more? Okay, fine: Earl Grey chocolate tart. White chocolate panna cotta. Spiked hot cocoa. Drooling yet? Thursday is your last chance–ART Restaurant (located in the Four Seasons) is offering an incredible spread of chocolate desserts for only $15 from 5-9 p.m. (Kids 6-12 may dine for $7, and kids under 5 are free.) Go for Happy Hour or dinner and end with this incredible spread, or go for the Chocolate Buffet alone! ART Restaurant & Lounge, 99 Union St.; 206.749.7070
MUST EXPERIENCE
Land of the Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker
Through 12/23 · Now in its fourth year, this assemblage of local burlesque big shots puts on a raucous show set to a swing-era soundtrack. Perfect for fans of exotic, acrobatic exploits or those who simply want to escape family obligations and spend the holidays with folks named Waxie Moon, Polly Wood and The Swedish Housewife. The Triple Door. At press time, seating for this show was limitied so be sure to order tickets in advance. Times and prices vary. 7 p.m. shows are for ages 17 and older; 10 p.m. shows are for ages 21 and older. 216 Union St.; 206.838.4333
MUST SEE
White Christmas
Through 12/30 · While you may be tired of hearing Bing Crosby croon “White Christmas” over loudspeakers in every store, there’s nothing tired about the live (and very lively) stage version (based on the 1954 movie), which only graces the 5th Avenue Theatre stage every three years. Song and dance numbers top the bill in this spirited musical tale of two famous showmen putting on a variety show at a financially troubled inn in Vermont, full of romantic entanglements with a pair of sisters, and dreams of a snowy white Christmas. Times and prices vary. 5th Avenue Theatre, 1308 5th Ave.; 206.625.1900
