Land of the Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker
Through 12/23 · Now in its fourth year, this assemblage of local burlesque big shots puts on a raucous show set to a swing-era soundtrack. Perfect for fans of exotic, acrobatic exploits or those who simply want to escape family obligations and spend the holidays with folks named Waxie Moon, Polly Wood and The Swedish Housewife. White Christmas
Through 12/30 · While you may be tired of hearing Bing Crosby croon “White Christmas” over loudspeakers in every store, there’s nothing tired about the live (and very lively) stage version (based on the 1954 movie), which only graces the 5th Avenue Theatre stage every three years. Song and dance numbers top the bill in this spirited musical tale of two famous showmen putting on a variety show at a financially troubled inn in Vermont, full of romantic entanglements with a pair of sisters, and dreams of a snowy white Christmas. Rosie Thomas Christmas Show
Saturday (12/19) · Singer/songwriter Rosie Thomas was born in Michigan but made her way to Seattle to attend Capitol Hill’s Cornish College of the Arts before embarking on her music career. She’ll be back on her old stomping grounds this weekend, playing holiday favorites at Great Hall. Featuring special guest Josh Ottum.
