Even without the swimming, boating, hiking and sunshine, San Juan Island is a pretty darn nice place to be in the wintertime. Cozying up to the gas fireplace in a lakeside log cabin at Lakedale Resort, doing a puzzle and reading a book, sipping on a glass of locally crafted San Juan Vineyards wine. Who could mind a little rain? Maybe later I’ll go for a hike. Or not. If only I could stay here forever…
