Love letters are an incredibly romantic gesture that have been lost in the flurry of e-mails and Twitter posts (that’s a hint, fellas). For a giant gesture that’s sure to impress, profess your eternal love with an inscription on a personalized Valentine’s Day tablecloth you can enjoy year after year.

Pick up a piece of canvas (at a fabric store) big enough to cover your tabletop and pen your feelings, memories, inside jokes—or even pop the question—with a permanent Sharpie pen. Add sentiments to this easy-to-create tablecloth each year to create a romantic V-Day dinner setting for two that will last for decades.

To complete the table setting, layer the canvas letter with a chic tablecloth (like this dramatic black and cream design print) and add romantic votive candles amongst your finest flatware for that final romantic touch.
