Candlelight Vigil for Sandy Hook Victims at Alki

A candlelight vigil will be held in West Seattle this weekend to honor the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in Newtown, CT, according to the West Seattle Herald.

Speakers will include violence survivors, including Snohomish County Prosecutor Mark Roe, board members of Families & Friends of Violent Crime Victims organization and executive director of Families & Friends of Violent Crime Victims, Marge Martin.

The vigil will be focused on healing and remembrance for the community, and will not be politicized according to organizer Casey Ann Rasmussen. Bring your own light sources, as supplies may be limited. For any questions please contact Rasmussen at caseyras@gmail.com or 206.788.5677.

The vigil will take place at the Alki Statue of Liberty plaza, near the Alki Bathhouse at 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, rain or shine.
