Kamonegi chef-owner Mutsuko Soma has had a big year, full of accolades for her Fremont soba shop. Now, she’s opened a sister sake spot, highlighting her love of the Japanese alcoholic beverage and serving it alongside bites like oysters, house-made pickles and Japanese-style sandwiches.

From the Eastside couple who owns Redmond’s Woodblock restaurant and bar comes a second venture: a wood-fired-pizza joint with an all-weather patio to serve the local community. Signature pies are topped with everything from burrata to wagyu beef carpaccio; don’t miss the draft cocktails and cannoli.

Standard Mexican fare gets a Pacific Northwest upgrade at this Ravenna newcomer, where the menu includes grilled salmon tacos and smoked queso fundido made with Beecher’s Flagship cheese. Happy hour, from 4 to 6 p.m. daily, brings $5 food options and $6 margaritas.
