The beard is back, and it’s not just for men anymore. The lumberjack’s trademark style has been heartily embraced by Northwest indie rockers and trendsters—and now even the follicularly challenged can jump on the burly bandwagon.
Behold: bearded beanies. Local Etsy artisans are crafting face-embracing knit caps that keep you warm while upping your style points with a full beard and ironic mustache.
PoorGirlCouture (etsy.com/shop/poorgirlcouture) from Vancouver, Washington, specializes in customized colors and a superfurry version.
Lackofagoodname (etsy.com/shop/lackofagoodname) from Port Orchard uses a subtle knit and an especially jaunty upturned mustache in his detachable designs.
Last but not least, Bylauradesign (etsy.com/shop/bylauradesign) of Yakima offers chunky knit detachable beards (also in kids’ sizes), patterns so you can make your own, and, just in time for the holidays, a knit Santa hat with traditional white beard.
