At first glance, it can be difficult to tell identical twins Scott and Sean Bautista apart. But once you get to know the dapper duo, it’s easy to see the differences—and similarities—that have helped build Bautista Twins Real Estate, the business they operate together under Compass Real Estate. Scott, who says he’s the more reserved of the two, started in the industry in 2006, while outgoing Sean began his career in luxury car sales at about the same time. They approach life and work with equal parts competitive nature and collaborative attitude, a mental outlook they learned while playing sports as kids. It helps “keep each other accountable,” Scott says.

House of Style
At work, the New Jersey-born, Seattle-raised twins sport tailored suits complemented with contemporary accessories—including patterned pocket squares and beaded bracelets—from the likes of Suitsupply (Bellevue) and Indochino (downtown). They honed this style by reading GQ magazine, which their father turned them on to years ago. “In high school, we wore a lot of baggy clothing,” shares Sean. “I think our father was giving us a hint.” When not on the job, the twins favor the sleek, sports-inspired street wear worn by their favorite NBA athletes, like tapered jogging pants and stylish tennis shoes.

Agents of Change
The brothers attribute their success, in part, to daily acts of intentional living. “I wake up at 5:30 a.m. every morning, and the first thing I do is meditate for 10 minutes,” says Sean. “Then I write down my goals in a journal.” What’s on his list? “To have our own TV show and to change millions of people’s lives by teaching them the power of their mind.”

The new festival connects Seattle’s heritage brands with its creative future.

Filson built its reputation during the Klondike Gold Rush, REI grew from a neighborhood co-op, and local designers are pushing sustainability in ways that are distinctly Northwest. This is what sets the stage for Seattle’s first…
