Fashion Friday: Two new clothing shops, Forbidden Fashion Show + spring cleaning sale at Nube Green

Scout and Jack Jerome open up shop and the Forbidden Fashion Show gets racy at SAM

Happy Friday! Since most of us are itching to get up from our desks and out into the sun, here are four shopping and style stops to make while out and about this weekend:

New clothing shops: I repeat, new boutiques! Two new local men’s and women’s clothing houses have opened in the past few weeks. The first is Scout on Capitol Hill, which is in a delightful little spot on E Pine less than a block away from Melrose Market. Co-owned by Karen Krupp (a grad of Seattle Cenral’s fab Apparel Design program) and Erin Dolan (owner of Edie’s), the rock n’ roll and industrial metal vibe of the shop compliments the laidback, Northwest-inspired clothes and indie accessories from the likes of BingBang jewelry and Collina Strada. Over near U Village, Jack Jerome opened its doors this week, focusing on sports-inspired casual wear for both men and women, and they should be right at home near the UW.

Forbidden fashion: As the weather heats up, so does the fashion. Case in point, this weekend’s slightly racy, always fun Forbidden Fashion Show, which races down the runway at the Seattle Art Museum on Saturday night (two shows, at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.). Produced by Eduardo Khawam, the James Bond-themed evening will feature lingerie and swimwear designs from a host of local designers including Adicora Swimwear and Agua Brava Swimwear, as well as lingerie from Bellefleur Lingerie. Grab a Bond Girl-inspired outfit and get your tickets here.

Spring cleaning: Or if the big spring clean-up is in the cards this weekend, reorganize with some stylish new accessories from Nube Green. Now through the end of the month, the Capitol Hill shop is having a 30 percent off sale on their chic, recycled cardboard accessories from bins to bookshelves (so at least your stuff will look good once you figure out how to cram it all in there). And if you “accidentally” pick up one of Adrienne Antonson’s in-house designs (see our video with the designer!) while you’re there, you can spiff up your style too.
