Whether you’re into brand-new, modern style or love the heavy patina of vintage pieces, Seattle and its environs have plenty of stores to help kit out your pad. Davenport (Madison Park, 1137 34th Ave.; 206.454.7582; davenportmadrona.com), the newest project by cousins and business partners Dustin Nelson and Erica Sheehan, owners of nearby Hitchcock Madrona, is an excellent spot to find goods for the eclectic home, including quirky oil paintings, vintage lamps, blankets and found objects from the two’s travels to India, and a selection of plates for the perfectly mismatched table.

Also shop: Phinneywood’s Ludlow Home (Phinney Ridge, 7315 Greenwood Ave. N; 206.429.5081; ludlowco.com) is another place to find the perfect objet trouvé. Owned by Bainbridge Island’s Rick Rochon, Ludlow Home leans toward the masculine, with cement floors, rough-hewn shelving ,and furniture upholstered in Levi’s 501 denim, plaid wool and burlap. Rochon has an affinity for pieces that look like they have stories to tell, such as a pair of steamer trunks that have been together as a set since the 1800s. One corner is dedicated to a larder, a growing section that includes private-label, custom-made Ludlow jam and tea from B. Fuller. Design company Jonathan Adler just opened a new shop at University Village this summer, but if supporting smaller, local businesses is your thing, head to The Standard (10697 Main St., Suite 3; 425.467.1164; thestandardinbellevue.com) in Bellevue, where you can find all sorts of glossy Hollywood Regency–inspired goods for your home, as well as distinctive vintage pieces and accessories, such as mod pillows, gold-horned water buffalo heads (faux, obviously) and a great selection of glam lamps. Capers (4525 California Ave. SW; 206.932.0371; caperscapers.blogspot.com) has been going strong in West Seattle for 28 years, providing reliably good interior décor, gifts and entertaining options from Roost, Rosanna and Noir Furniture. Head here for durable indoor/outdoor rugs, gilded glassware and tons of supercute kids’ stuff.
