Instagram is overflowing with talented nail artists who constantly remind me how artistically inferior I am. When doing my nails, I usually stick to the most basic style: the two-coat single color, occasionally featuring a matte finish if I’m feeling adventurous. However, once every few months I go on a limb and try to re-create styles I don’t think I’ll completely obliterate when using my non-dominate hand.

Below are some simple nail colors and designs to add some spice to your fingertips. The majority of these looks can be created with steady hands and tape to ensure clean lines.

2.) Black and White Lines: @aliciatnails

3.) Peachy Nude: @nailsbymh

4.) Layered Colors: @missladyfinger
