Hold on to your cashmere cloche hats. The latest news in our fair fashion and shopping world is a doozy, rife with exciting openings, knock-out sales and a visit from a certain Neiman Marcus bigwig. Ready? Let’s proceed.

This Friday, May 20, luxury French fashion house Louis Vuitton, perhaps best known for its monogrammed leather handbags and accessories, makes its grand debut at Nordstrom’s downtown flagship. The retailer relocated from its former spot within the Rainier Square shopping complex and its move into Nordstrom also marks a new merchandise offering for the department store.

Maison LV’s sizeable first-floor boutique along Pine Street will house a curated selection of men’s and women’s leather goods, accessories and textiles plus a dedicated section featuring its fancy travel gear. Shoppers will also have the chance to customize their purchases with painted initials and motifs or–for select items and smaller leather accessories–hot stamping via its Mon Monogram program. Très excitant!

Look for a brand-new door in shopping mecca University Village: Women’s contemporary (and comfy) apparel brand Joie will open a 1,565-square-foot boutique on Thursday, June 9 Friday, June 17. It will be Joie’s first-ever Seattle store and the company’s 13th location in the U.S. Expect a selection of Joie’s floaty, perfect-for-summer tops and tees, pretty patterned dresses, casual yet polished pants and shorts, and shoes.

According to the release, the store itself takes inspiration from the “ease of the California lifestyle,” (it’s based in Vernon, Calif.) with a nod to Paris via gray walls, white oak floors and architecture that’s been weathered to lend a vintage, yet minimal and modern aesthetic.

Prepare to ooh and ahh over the latest runway-inspired trends presented by none other than Neiman Marcus’ influential fashion director and frequent fashion show front-rower, Ken Downing. Mr. Downing will take the floor on Thursday, May 19 at 11:30 a.m. in NM’s couture salon to discuss 30 different looks featuring pieces from spring and select pre-fall collections. Seattle magazine style editor Jennifer McCullum spent the morning with him today and got a first look behind the scenes at the trend report. Let’s just say that we’re all in for a sartorial treat. Store closing report: Seattle-based home furnishing store Schoenfeld Interiors has announced plans to close its Pioneer Square store at 115 S Jackson Street to focus on its Bellevue location. A slight silver lining: The retailer will liquidate its entire stock of furniture, rugs and accessories at seriously reduced prices during its big consolidation sale. Visit its website to learn more or swing by the Pioneer Square shop while it’s still open.

Updated: This article was updated on Tuesday, June 7, to reflect the new opening date for the Joie store in University Village. According to a spokeswoman for the retailer, it will now open on June 17.
