Madewell Opening Soon: After walking by the former Diesel storefront on Fifth Avenue several times recently and noticing it was under construction, we were a bit curious. So we did some fashion sleuthing and were able to confirm that Madewell, J Crew’s laid-back, denim-focused sister store, has plans to open in that downtown location in late April.

The store will house the brand’s collection of women’s clothing, leather goods, shoes and accessories. Currently, a curated selection of Madewell’s wares are available at Nordstrom’s downtown Seattle flagship. The brand also has stores in University Village and Bellevue Square. Update: A Madewell spokesperson informed us the space will also have a complete denim bar and a shoe salon.

Rag & Bone Designers at Nordstrom: On Friday, February 26, Rag & Bone designers David Neville and Marcus Wainwright will swing by the downtown flagship’s Via C department (on level two) from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Fete the duo’s latest collection, learn a few styling tips and if you make a Rag & Bone purchase, you’ll receive a gift of a denim pouch and notebook.

Sneaker Launch at Likelihood: Capitol Hill men’s footwear shop Likelihood is hosting an ode to spring launch event on Thursday, February 25, featuring the new 3M Trail Runner sneaker collection from Seattle- and Tokyo-based menswear label Maiden Noir and Victory Sportswear.

“We are excited about the 3M Trail Runner because it was originally built for marathoners,” Likelihood owner Aaron DelGuzzo said in a press release. “Maiden Noir has added 3M touches [reflective material] and adjusted it for what we call the ‘urban marathoner’ who needs a durable, comfortable shoe that can go from the office during the day to the gig or party at night.”

Scope out the new shoe, meet the designers and also snag a gander at MN’s spring/summer collection. There will be live music from the Night Shift Crew and refreshments will be served. Head to 1101 East Union Street on Feb. 25 from 6 to 9 p.m.
