(1/22 to 2/7, times vary) Seattle’s most surprising film festival celebrates its 10th year, with more than 175 kid-oriented flicks from nearly 50 countries. With documentaries, animation, feature films and shorts, there is plenty here to keep grown-ups occupied while the younger set mingles.

(1/25, 12 to 5 p.m.) Seattle sculptor John Grade spent nine months plaster-casting a 140-year-old Hemlock tree in North Bend, then meticulously reconstructing it (using latticed wood) in the MadArt Gallery in South Lake Union. See the gorgeous result, Middle Fork, before it packs up and travels the country.
