Seattle Pride Parade Winds Through Downtown
(6/29, 11 a.m.) — Deck yourself in rainbows or just come as you are for the 40th anniversary of the Seattle Pride Parade. The rich pageant—led by grand marshal George Takei!—parties down Fourth Avenue, from Union Street to Denny Way. Shenanigans begin at 11 a.m.

Tuesday (7/1, 8 p.m.) — Seattle’s own dynamic duo Heart promises to knock it out of the (Marymoor) park.

Afropunk Party and Afrotastic Catwalk
Saturday (6/28, 7 p.m.) — Uninhibited hair takes the spotlight in the Northwest African American Museum’s newest photo exhibit, Afros: A Celebration of Natural Hair. See these high flying hairstyles live and in person at the Afropunk Party, featuring a fashion show, music and dancing.

The South Park Bridge Grand Opening
Sunday (6/29, 12 to 9 p.m.) — After the 1931 version closed due to unstable conditions, the newly constructed (and better than ever!) South Park Bridge is back, complete with historic railing panels, gears, light posts and more reused items from the original. Revel in all its majestic glory with a parade, street party and guided tours.

Have a Ball in the Olympic Sculpture Park
Friday (6/27, 6 to 11:30 p.m.) — Mingle with fellow art lovers at the Seattle Art Museum’s outdoor summertime bash and fundraiser. Expect dinner from local chefs such as Ethan Stowell and Meeru Dhalwala of Shanik served at artful tables trimmed with designs by local artists including Diem Chau and Joey Veltkamp.
