(3/15–4/8) Now 15 years strong, the annual Moisture Festival, a sometimes racy cavalcade of comedy, cabaret and variété, celebrates the quirky, vaudevillian side of the performing arts. From burlesque to cirque, acts like Hilby the Skinny German Juggling Boy and Tina Lenert’s Mopman (a mop puppet) carry the tradition forward—and keep it weird, too. Annual University of Washington Cherry Blossoms Bloom
(3/17-ongoing) You know spring is in the air when the Yoshino cherry tree blossoms in University of Washington’s (UW) quad start to bloom. The forecast, according to UW arborist Sara Shores, is the trees will be in full bloom starting this weekend and the early part of next week. So, pack your camera and a picnic and check out these wonders of Seattle’s world. Can’t make it to the quad? No problem. Check out UW TV’s live feed of the cherry trees. Times vary. Free.

(3/15–4/22) The three fates, in Greek mythology, controlled your life: One spun your thread, one measured it and one snipped it when your time was up. In Sarah Hammond and Adam Gwon’s musical, though, they’re not omnipotent; Zeus banishes them to the modern world. The winner of a 2015 Richard Rodgers Award, String was the focus of a workshop in Village Theatre’s Beta Series last summer and now receives its first full staging, starring Sara Porkalob, Jessica Skerritt and Lauren Du Pree in the three title roles. MUST SPREAD SPRING CHEER
21st Annual Pike Place Market Daffodil Day
(3/20) For the past 20 years, volunteers from Pike Place Market would swarm the streets of downtown Seattle and hand out daffodils to spread the word: Spring is here. This year is no different. Starting at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, find volunteers at First and University, Second and Pike, Fourth and Virginia, and many other corners in downtown.
