Fans of Kirsten Anderson’s long-running pop art gallery Roq La Rue (which closed in 2016 after 18 years) will find an updated twist at her new exhibit space, Creatura House (Capitol Hill, 705 E Pike), an animal-inspired art gallery and boutique.

The shop offers a selection of highly curated wares, including rotating fine art for sale alongside design decor such as sculptural lamps, animal-friendly print textiles and this life-size, acrylic-drop-studded cougar, created by Ellensburg-based artist Justin Beckman.

A portion of the shop’s proceeds go to her nonprofit, Creatura Wildlife Projects, which works to protect endangered animals in Africa. Creatura House, Anderson says, is a way to shelter both her passion for fine art and for animals under one roof. “Everything in the shop is made to relate to the natural world in an artistic way.”

On view in May: drawings and paintings from the group show, Le Carnaval des Animaux.
