Of course we should currently be on the lookout for gifts for others. (This little wonder notes there are a mere 41 days and 10 hours left until Christmas. Oy vey.) But I see no problem with slipping a sable or two for moi in with my handpicked gifts for friends and family. I do what I feel like.

A few new stores have arrived just in time for the holiday madness. Last week, we wrote about 8telier, an ultra-modern women’s boutique now open at downtown’s Pacific Place. Now we’ve got the details on two more fresh additions to the Seattle shopping scene: Portland-based Sticks & Stones in Ballard and Haute Hibou, a very bohemian-style shop also in Ballard that opened last week.

Oh, and if you somehow missed the Goodwill Glitter sale, the Seattle Goodwill is hosting an online Sparkle Sale from November 17 to December 10, which will feature vintage and designer baubles and gems with pocketbook-friendly price tags. Shop the sale here; items will be listed using #SparkleSale and proceeds will benefit Goodwill’s free job training and education program.

Another important sale to note: Paychi Guh, a luxe cashmere line of sweaters, tops and scarves from former Nordstrom textile designer and design director Paychi Karen Guh, is hosting a sample sale and trunk show on November 15. Stop by Juniper in Madrona from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for close to 50 fabuous cashmere pieces, all at 40 to 60 percent off retail.

Sticks & Stones
Here, you’ll find all manner of small treasures–rings, necklaces, cuff links, bangles, bolos and button covers–crafted from various materials like elk antler (taken from the animal’s sheds), abalone, stacked mahogany and other reclaimed woods. The Portland-based company manufactures each product in-house and notes that there are various stages of prep work involved in making the pieces, including “sanding and dipping in a custom oil blend,” which cures and protects the wood and enhances its luster. Pretty, yet kinda tough

Haute Hibou
Let your inner gypsy run wild in this newly opened Ballard boutique, which specializes in bohemian clothing, jewelry and accessories. Stock up on kimonos, lace bell bottoms, rocker tees, leopard-print coats and beyond from myriad labels such as La Vie Boheme, Matisse and Flynn Skye. “I’ve spent so much time shopping online for brands that weren’t readily available anywhere in the Northwest,” says Rachel Brown, UW graduate and Haute Hibou owner. “There are so many great lines that Seattle hasn’t been introduced to, and that’s where Haute Hibou comes in.”
