A simple leather tote bag, reliably versatile and able to carry almost anything asked of it, can weather the winds of time.
In fact, a little bit of weathering, over years of use, is exactly what makes classic leather bags so perfect. It is in that spirit (simple, durable, affordable) that Tacoma-based designer Laurel Dasso crafts bags for her 2-year-old collection, Laurel Dasso Leathers. These hand-sewn bags—ranging in price from $60 for a small cross-body satchel to $415 for a large, limited-edition genuine ostrich bucket tote—are crafted from fine, soft leather in go-with-everything colors of black, brown, gray and blue.
Sturdy, double-stitched handles come in scene-stealing avocado and orange leather and canvas, and each bag is lined with easy-to-clean waterproof fabric. The interior includes two big slit pockets for easy access to essentials, a key fob and a zippered pocket big enough for an iPad.
