This month, for the first time, Seabrook is holding a daffodil festival. (Because apparently there aren’t already enough reasons to visit!)

The aptly named “Daffodil Festival” runs March 17-18 and includes several special events in addition to the oceanfront village’s usual activities, with over 4,000 of the flowers planted throughout town.

The event kicks off on Friday night with an Artist Reception feauring the sounds of Ericka Corban, a fantastic local singer/songwriter who’s currently a contestent on NBC’s The Voice.

Saturday offers morning people an 8 a.m. mountain bike ride through the forests surrounding Seabrook. If you prefer to sleep in, you can rent bikes anytime over the weekend and head off on your own along the town’s many trails, or across the beach.

From 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, the Spring Market on Seabrook Ave and the Art Sale at North Coast Montessori will give art and craft lovers something to explore. You can also browse the art at glassybaby—which is donating a portion of its sales this weekend to the Seabrook Community Foundation—and the eclectic coastal home decor and gift items at SeaWorthy Home. 

The Yellow, Orange and White (YOW!) Parade begins at 11 a.m. and concludes at noon on Saturday at the Town Hall with a neighborhood picnic and the contest judging for Seabrook’s Festive Contest, which anyone can enter by decorating their bikes, dogs and more. The Sweet Life candy and ice cream shop will also be running a yellow candy counting competition, which gives you an excuse to stop by multiple times.

Food and drink are available all weekend at The Stowaway (we recommend the Northwest Best red wine flight and Three Cheeses Plate with Drunken Goat), Mill 109 (if you’re there for lunch, order The Lokie “Ivo-style” with steak), and the newly opened Frontager’s Pizza Co. If you’d rather cook for yourself, you can buy groceries at the Front Street Market (and they deliver!).

If you’ve never been to Seabrook, the Daffodil Festival offers a great excuse to check it out. The family-friendly oceanfront village is situated on Washington’s northwest coast halfway between Seattle and Portland, and offers homes for rent and sale. It’s a popular Pacific Northwest getaway both because of the beautiful environment, and because the community is designed around the concept of a five-minute walk, with environmentally-conscious trails, common gathering areas (heated indoor pool, fire pit, tennis and pickle ball courts etc.), and lots of ongoing activities for all ages.
