Award-winning Seattle journalist David Neiwert covers an interesting beat: killer whales and politics (his blog, Orcinus, describes his efforts as “spyhopping the right”). He explores the latter subject in his recently published book, Alt-America: The Rise of the Radical Right in the Age of Trump (Verso, $29.95), essential reading for anyone who is—as Neiwert notes—“startled by the ugliness and violence that suddenly have returned to our electoral politics.”
