Tracy Cilona was seeking a fragrance that embodied the spirit of her gallery and boutique, Virago.
Latin for “Woman Warrior”—for her shop’s annual wearable art show, Our Daily Armor (opening Saturday), so she tapped one of her vendors, James Elliott of all-natural, certified-vegan perfume atelier Filigree, to create the signature scent. Luxurious and earthen, Elliott describes “Virago” ($179/15 milliliters/0.5 ounce) as “the curl of dirt in your hand, the scent of honeyed hay under your feet and the embrace of roses on your skin.”
It’s what to wear for whatever battle lies ahead.
