Shop Local
With so many startups in town, it’s no big surprise that Seattle loves supporting its creative, DIY community. Urban Craft Uprising is the headliner when it comes to local curated craft fairs. With goods ranging from apparel and toys to art and food, it’s the largest independent craft showcase in the city. June 24–25. Seattle Center, Exhibition Hall, 301 Mercer St.; urbancraftuprising.com

Trade Show
In just its third year, the touring Renegade Craft Fair brings national and local makers together and offers live music and interactive features, along with its quality handmade goods. July 22–23, 11 a.m.–6 p.m. View Ridge, Magnuson Park, Hangar 30, 6310 NE 74th St.; renegadecraft.com

Summer Sales

The Mark-Your-Calendar Classic
The mother of all preseason sales, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is July 21–August 6 this year (early access for Nordstrom cardholders July 13–20). The beloved retailer, founded in Seattle, offers plenty to love: brands from Levi’s to Yves Saint Laurent, along with special displays, such as the Hermès pop-up. When you need a break, grab a cocktail at the Habitant Lounge. Multiple locations, including downtown, 500 Pine St.; nordstrom.com

The Lucky Find
Avoid downtown crowds at Momo’s Good Fortune Sale (late August, exact dates TBD; momoseattle.blogspot.com). With a blend of European and Asian aesthetics, Momo is an independent gem where you can stock up on gifts, home goods, and apparel for men and women on sale. Break open a fortune cookie at the counter to get an additional 10–30 percent off your purchase before taking it home to live with you. Chinatown/International District, 600 S Jackson St.; 206.329.4736; momoseattle.com
