!–paging_filter–pLast month a href=”http://nymag.com/thecut/2014/05/how-to-get-your-body-caftan-ready-for-su…” target=”_blank”The Cut/a posted a hilarious little something about getting your body caftan-ready for summer (or for the caftan parties that are apparently the rage emdu jour/em in LA—Christina Hendricks is a HUGE fan), and it struck me as the perfect counterbalance to the barrage of bathing suit advice that comes with the season. Bathing suits are great if you’re a swimmer or sunbather, but caftans are amazing for almost every other hot weather leisure time moment (including post swimming and sunbathing). Plus they’re comfy and forgiving. I’m a huge fan./p
pCoincidentally I was at a href=”http://local.seattlemag.com/juniper“Juniper/a in Madrona, one of my favorite shops, and spied a cool collection of caftans, from a href=”http://www.twonewyork.com/” target=”_blank”Two/a and a href=”http://www.virginiajohnson.com/” target=”_blank”Virginia Johnson/a, for the woman who is interested in rocking the look while still looking chic. Here are some of the ones that caught my eye. Check in with Lisa at Juniper for currently availability./p

Totes Secondhand

Evergreen Goodwill teams up with Seattle artist Stevie Shao for a post-Thanksgiving push toward sustainable shopping.

Have you heard of Secondhand Sunday? It launched in 2022 as the calmer follow-up to Black Friday—a day built for browsing at secondhand stores instead of racing for deals at the mall. It also happens to land right when thrift stores are at their best. Racks are full of cold-weather staples and holiday decorations, and…
