!–paging_filter–pSan Francisco-based beauty expert Victoria Tsai’s fine skincare line, a href=”http://www.barneys.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-BNY-Site/default/Search…” target=”_blank”Tatcha/a, has just launched at the Seattle a href=”http://\/\/seattlemag.com/barneys-remodel-and-party“Barneys/a. With formulations based on traditional Japanese ingredients combined with modern science, and inspired by beauty secrets of the geishas, Tatcha products are exquisite—and exquisitely packaged. Tsai’s proprietary Hadasei-3 bioactive complex, based around red algae, green tea and rice bran, is intended to leave the skin supple and baby soft. The addition of camellia and macadamia nut oils, licorice, peony, bamboo and 24 karat gold makes for a power-packed formula that calms, nourishes and hydrates the skin./p
pDo I sound like I’m gushing? Well, I kind of am. Not only am I quite taken by the caliber of the ingredients and how they feel and smell, but Tatcha is a line that I’m happy to display on my bathroom counter. The products look sleek, are substantial and thoughtfully designed, down to the insanely cute gold spoon that come tucked under a fabric furoshiki knot on the face cream.nbsp;/p
p”Bringing Tatcha to Seattle in partnership with Barneys New York is a dream come true for us,” says Tsai. “Seattle has long felt like a second home—a href=”http://www.tetherinc.com/home.aspx” target=”_blank”Stanley Hainsworth/a, one of my cofounders, and his creative agency are based here. They are responsible for all of our beautiful designs, from our packaging to our website.”/p
p”I love that Seattle so effortlessly blends Pacific Northwest culture with Asian culture. I created Tatcha to share the treasures I find on my journeys East, and I feel that Seattle women are uniquely receptive to this concept, thanks to their perspective,” she continues. “The Barneys New York customer is also one who is uniquely receptive to a curated experience and is always seeking brands with a strong point of view and eye towards luxury. We are delighted to be a part of their family, and look forward to setting our brand’s roots in Seattle.”/p
