These New-School Pantsuits Aren’t Your Mother’s Office Wear

Taking a cue from designer collections, pop culture and Seattle’s ambitious and entrepreneurial women, modern pantsuits are bold, powerful and anything but matchy-matchy.

The word “pantsuit” may conjure different images and applications, but at its core, a pantsuit is about women and work. This year, The Riveter (Capitol Hill, 1517 12th Ave.; 206.486.5793) opened its doors to women (though all are welcome) seeking a supportive workspace environment, providing perks such as a space for breastfeeding, yoga classes and flexible options for membership. With a number of striking backdrops, The Riveter’s setting proved to be the natural choice for our fall fashion feature.
