Tips and Tricks to Shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

How to navigate this extra-special sale with ease

July is a month that Nordstrom shoppers look forward to with giddy anticipation because it’s Anniversary Sale time and Anniversary Sale time means slashed prices on all the newest and most on trend clothing, shoes and handbags (and kids’ clothing for those of us who shop for kids) that Nordstrom trend-watchers, buyers and designers have on deck for fall.

The big sale starts Friday, July 18, but Nordstrom cardholders have been shopping it since July 10—if you’ve been in a store and wondered what’s behind those silver curtains, it’s all the sale merchandise—but never fear, there’s enough for every one.

Longtime sale shoppers will have their own strategy when braving the crowds—and there will be crowds—but we have our own tips to share:

– Use Nordstrom’s free personal stylist service. Just make an appointment (they’re likely working overtime during the sale) and let them pull stuff for you while you hang out in a nice, serene dressing room.

– Let your fingers do the walking. Scout your fave items online, hold them for pick up in the store of your choice, or just order online. Shipping and returns are free. Nordstrom makes it easy like that.

– Don’t hesitate to ask the sales person to call around to other stores for the right size or color of your item. Nordstrom will conveniently have the item mailed from the other store if you can’t make it in.

– And this is just a generic tip for any sale or significant shopping outing: wear an outfit that is easy in/easy out so you don’t struggle in the dressing room. Make your life easier and help yourself shop happier.
