For kids who say “no!” to wearing too-stiff denim jeans, local parents Erin and Nick Cloke offer an alternative: cute, kicky denim styles made from eco-friendly and ultrasoft bamboo.
The Bainbridge Island pair, owners of KICKY PANTS kids’ clothing (kickypants.com), use bamboo denim for their collections of kids’ jeans, which come in dark and light washes, and a variety of styles in sizes for newborns to age 6, and for both boys and girls ($36–$46).
Available at West Seattle’s City Mouse Studio and Store (4218 SW Alaska St.; 206.909.0189; citymousestudio.com), where you can bring in your kids’ outgrown name-brand blues and get a $10 store credit as part of its denim-recycling program.
