Seattle International Beer Festival
(7/7-7/9) Now in its 17th year, this globally-focused beer bash operates a little differently than the typical all-you-can-sample festivals. The worldly bash, which features more overseas beers than most ‘Murica-heavy fests, employs a ticket system, for better or worse. Those rarefied sours that Untappd addicts brag about (and may not last all weekend) might set you back a few more tickets than the under-the-radar helles. Goatalympics
(7/8) Watch adorable pet goats and their handlers compete in foot races, obstacle courses and costume competitions. Which furry companions will win titles like “Most Spots” and “Longest Beard”? All proceeds help fund New Moon Farm Goat Rescue and Sanctuary, which has rehabilitated and found homes for more than 1,550 animals since 1998. 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Free. Video Games Live
(7/8) Video games meets rock concert meets symphony orchestra, giving birth to Video Games Live, an immersive concert of video game music from titles such as Final Fantasy, Halo, Mario, The Legend of Zelda and World of Warcraft. Game industry veteran Tommy Tallarico has gathered top orchestras and choirs from around the world in a touring production, combining their music with interactive and live segments to produce a unique experience for gamers and non-gamers alike. 8 p.m. Prices vary.
