If there is any solace in a rainy June weekend, it’s in the great shopping to be had (all indoors!). Here’s what’s a buzz this week:

Demure Canopy Blue in Madison Park has long reigned as a must-stop for women hankering for casual, yet elegant attire. Now, Danielle Ackerly has taken over from original owner Kieran Malone, bring a sweet new presence to the shop. Manager Tess Redinger says that longtime fans can still expect the same St. Bart’s-esque destination feel inside, but should also be on the lookout for more shopping events and wine nights to encourage shoppers to linger (we’re there). This weekend, Canopy Blue is celebrating with a weekend-long party at the shop, with treats from neighbor Belle Epicurean, jewelry from Juliet Rogers (pictured at top) and 15% off merchandise both today and tomorrow. So get over to the Park and say hi; right now the pair is especially enthused about the AG Denim and new DVF frocks from Diane Von Furstenberg.

When I visit my hometown Eugene, Oregon, I go partly to visit family and friends, and partly to visit TJ Maxx HomeGoods. So, it is much to mother’s dismay and my uncontainable excitement that I announce: This weekend the Seattle-area will get not one, but two HomeGoods of our own, one in Lynnwood and one in Federal Way. Kids, this is worth a weekend excursion: Both 20,000-square-foot spaces are akin to your normal T.J. Maxx, but on steroids. In addition to racks and racks of clothing, they, naturally, specialize in home décor with furniture, art and lamps offered at killer (killer) prices. Both open up shop this Sunday.

Last week word came that Bellevue Square in Bellevue is looking to expand in 2013- but up, instead of out. (Hey, the Square is why my mom comes to visit me! We’re even now.) The expansion will add 119,000 square feet in a third level addition, but the most engaging part of The Seattle Times’ story is the rampant speculation on what major tenant will be anchoring the square footage. Saks? Nordstrom Rack? Dare we hope, Zara? Keep your shopping eyes peeled in coming months to see.
