Whole Foods Offers Early Shoppers ‘Turkey Insurance’
Grocer is offering a 'turkey protection plan'
By Nat Rubio-Licht November 12, 2020

Whole Foods and Progressive Insurance are teaming up to ensure that your Thanksgiving meal is mishap-free.
Whole Foods shoppers who buy their turkeys through Nov. 22 are eligible to receive a $35 Whole Foods gift card if their Thanksgiving cooking plans go awry. Starting on Thanksgiving day, the first 1,000 “Turkey Insurance” claims will receive gift cards.
To file your “turkey fail” claim, shoppers should submit a photo of their turkey and give a brief explanation of what happened.
The Whole Foods announcement encouraged shoppers to purchase their Thanksgiving cooking materials early. The grocer, which was purchased by Amazon two years ago, also highlighted the quality of its turkeys, which are free of antibiotics and not fed anything containing animal by-products.
Whole Foods also offers Thanksgiving catering and grocery delivery to delivery in select locations.
As the pandemic limits restaurant offerings, more than half of consumers are eating at home more, according to online industry publication Food Dive.
