Best Brewery: Reuben’s Brews

During the summer, and after closing its Fremont location, Reuben’s Brews opened a shiny new downtown taproom, just steps from Pike Place Market. A family-owned and operated business, the brewery grew out of Adam Robbings’ award-winning home brewing career.
In 2012, Adam and his wife, Grace, launched Reuben’s Brews, naming the brand after their son and applying what they term a “glass backwards” approach: crafting each beer individually and being open to experimentation in the process. The Robbings brew their libations in Ballard (where they also have a taproom), and offer 28 options of beer, cider, and seltzer at each of their locations, ensuring that everyone in your group, from the IPA aficionado to the lager lover, has something satisfying in their glass. The new downtown space fills a previously vacant void along First Avenue with smart seating both inside and out, as well as a full menu of pub fare. If you don’t have time to sit and sip, you can pop in and grab a fresh pack to go.

About Best of the Best
Everyone loves a winner. And when it comes to Seattle favorites, there’s no shortage of opinions on which places, spaces, and bites deserve top honors. This year, we did things a little differently—our staff weighed in, debating and voting to determine the best of the best across the city. We also ran our annual Readers’ Choice poll for comparison (and yes, there was overlap in just one category). Here’s to celebrating all the winners, no matter who cast the vote.
