Ezell’s has been Seattle’s fried chicken royalty since 1984. This is where crispy, juicy chicken meets buttery rolls and creamy coleslaw. Ezell’s was co-founded by Ezell Stephens and Lewis Rudd, who brought their Southern roots to the Pacific Northwest. Oprah had Ezell’s flown to Chicago, calling it the “best fried chicken I’ve ever had.” The sides — like slow-cooked baked beans, mashed potatoes, and fried okra — are as important as the main event.

Hot Tip

Grab the freshly baked rolls — you’ll need them for soaking up flavor. Plus, they’re good for a school lunch the next day.
