Here’s What the Solar Eclipse Looked Like in Seattle
Did the eclipse live up to the hype? Seattleites give mixed reviews.

It finally came. The sun-blocking moment folks have been freaking out about for months, dropping serious cash for weird and wild viewing packages in the process, arrived Monday morning.
Here in Seattle, the solar eclipse was only at 92 percent, but people flocked to a number of solid viewing locations around the city for the once-in-decades event. Fortunately, the eclipse didn’t trigger some doomsday catastrophy, unless of course you’re trying to drive through Oregon right now. Based on initial social media reactions, the biggest disturbance was a slight temperature dip and some animals getting a little wigged out. (If you missed it, you can watch a replay here.)
On the bright side (not an eclipse pun), our perpetually logjammed roads were as deserted as they could be as the eclipse slightly darkened the city.
Opinions on whether the solar event of the century (pretty low bar) lived up to the hype were decidedly mixed. But at the very least we got some cool pictures out of the deal.
