Roll out the red carpet and spend an evening in gold, glam and fine elegance by throwing your own Golden Globes party! Dazzle your guests with sweet treats, fun props and sparkling cocktails. With the nominees in, Sunday, January 11 will be the day we find out whether Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) or Reese Witherspoon (Wild) wins Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama or if HBO’s crime series True Detective steals the spotlight for Best TV Movie or Mini-Series.

While we all can’t witness the awards in person, view the winners in your own home by following these 5 tips to throwing a celebrity-style Golden Globes party!

1. Red Carpet Entrance

With lots of balloons, confetti, streamers and a center for sweets, you’ll be sure to have a sparkling evening. You can’t forget to capture moments during any event. Set up a home photobooth with a fun backdrop and lots of props! Don’t be afraid to get creative here by adding in personal touches like names of your guests on stars, DIY golden globe statues or cardboard cutouts of your favorite celebrities.

4. Finger Food & Fancy Drinks

A party wouldn’t be complete without snacks and drinks. When deciding what type of food to make for your Golden Globe party, keep it classy, but easy. Cook up some appetizers that can act as finger food like this list of Golden Globe appetizers pictured below, along with more substantial snacks like these Holly-Weenie Tuxedos.

Once you’ve chosen your snacks, it’s time to decide your drinks! Here are 18 classic cocktails that are easy to make and even better to drink.

Don’t forget to dress your best! If you really want to go all out–consider adding formal attire to your party invitations so that guests know what to wear. And make sure to tune in on Sunday, January 11 to the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards live on NBC at 5 p.m. (PST).
