Sometimes after a long work week you just need to spend a day at the beach. Sometimes you also need a dose of quiet and relaxation, which lamentably often can’t be found at Seattle’s main beaches on a 90-degree Saturday afternoon.

So if you’re looking to get a little warm sand between your toes and some restful vibes in your head, here are five lesser-known beaches within about a two-hour drive of the city, in the order shown below: Fort Ebey State Park, Point No Point Lighthouse, Teddy Bear Cove, Fort Worden State Park, and Saltar’s Point Park.

One look at these gorgeous Instagram images will make you want to cut out of work and head straight to the sea.
