The goal of Guesthouse interior design firm and shop is to make you feel not as though you were a guest, but as if you were at home—supposing your home was decked in a mix of modern accents and vintage statement pieces, like a fully restored $12,500 Vladimir Kagan green velvet sofa. Owner and interior designer Kate Sehulster launched Guesthouse as a business in 2009, with interior designer Kaitlin McCague joining in 2014; in July, they opened a South Lake Union studio that’s both retail shop and client meeting space. Sehulster says their goal is to “do something we love that means something to people,” transforming clients’ spaces with soulful, personalized design that utilizes old and new, neutral and bold. To spruce up your space, the shop is stocked with a broad assortment of internationally designed textiles, both wallpaper and fabric.
