HONK! is a street band festival that takes over Seattle every year. Street musicians from all over the world play in parks and public spaces. The atmosphere is electric and upbeat, and you can’t help but dance along. It’s been a Seattle favorite since 2008. Perfect for a fun day out with friends or family.

Anida Yoeu Ali and her team or artists will be decked out in vibrant chadors, performing at all three SAM locations throughout the day. They’ll kick things off at the Seattle Asian Art Museum, then head over to Olympic Sculpture Park, and wrap up at the Seattle Art Museum. After the performances, swing back to the Asian Art Museum to check out Ali’s exhibition, Hybrid Skin, Mythical Presence.

Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah, a National Book Foundation “5 Under 35” honoree, is coming to Town Hall to talk about his debut novel, Chain-Gang All-Stars. This explosive book, already a bestseller, dives into a dystopian world where two women gladiators fight for their freedom in a prison system eerily similar to our own. Known for his powerful storytelling in Friday Black, Adjei-Brenyah’s work has been featured in The New York Times Book Review, Esquire, and The Paris Review.
