Seattle is looking so pretty with all the water around us and everything is so green (and pink!). Nothing beats summer in the Pacific Northwest.
First, we’ve got five must-do local summer activities. Next, there’s a beautiful show at the Frye. Also, let’s talk virtual reality — there’s a new VR social venue launching in Bellevue. What do you do you think about it? I’m skeptical.

Capitol Hill Block Party is the ultimate music fest taking over the streets of Capitol Hill. This annual three-day event features more than 60 touring and local talents, from big-name headliners to fresh new voices. Join your neighbors, catch some killer acts, and enjoy the best of Capitol Hill.
An Evening with John Legend

7 p.m., Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery, $189+
Catch John Legend at the winery for an intimate solo performance. The 12-time Grammy winner will sing and tell stories while you sip wine and hang with friends.
Chinatown Seafair Parade
Sunday, July 21
7 p.m., Seattle Chinatown International District, Free
This annual parade is a local favorite, featuring the iconic 100-ft dragon and the Chinese Community Girls Drill Team in traditional opera costumes. Recently, more Asian performance groups have joined the mix, adding to the traditional floats and drill teams. It’s two hours of fun that draws thousands of people to the streets well in advance.
Ellen’s Last Stand…Up

8 p.m., Benaroya Hall, $50
Ellen DeGeneres’ “Last Stand…Up” tour is making its way to Benaroya Hall. This show marks her return to stand-up after 15 years, featuring her signature humor and personal stories. It’s your last chance to see the 12-time Emmy winner live.

It’s Bobbie’s 35th birthday, and her friends won’t stop asking why she’s not married yet.
