Last week Nordstrom launched its latest designer collaboration: a Céline pop-up boutique curated by Olivia Kim, vice president of Creative Projects.

The newest installment of the Pop-In @ Nordstrom concept, designed with minimalist cream-colored shelving and overlapping green floor prints, is open to the public through May 29. It will then head up north to set up “shop” at the Nordstrom Pacific Center in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Fans of the Paris-based luxury house will enjoy a curated mix of ready-to-wear, jewelry, shoes and handbags from the Spring/Summer 2018 collection, including four items exclusive to Nordstrom.

Guests at last week’s private launch party got to snag a first look at these exclusives, which included classic leather Multikeyrings, Signature City Eye sunglasses — springtime-ready in baby blue — and a stunning pair of lace-up sneakers in green and white.

Prosecco cocktails and one-bite pieces of sushi were passed out as VIP customers and picture-perfect style bloggers ooh-ed and aah-ed over the most coveted exclusive of the evening: the Solo Clutch in tan lambskin.

Diehard Céline fans will no doubt want to add these pieces to their personal collections as the era of Phoebe Philo comes to an end.

After the preview party on Thursday, Ms. Kim and co-president Pete Nordstrom hosted an intimate dinner at Matt’s in the Market that included special guests Rowan Blanchard, Petra Collins and Gia Coppola.

Local optometry clinic Eye Eye celebrates a decade in business and prepares to debut its first line of frames.

In Leschi Park, overlooking Lake Washington, towers one of Seattle’s many historic trees, a giant sequoia planted sometime in the early 20th century. Just down the street on Lakeside Avenue is the second location of eye clinic and shop Eye Eye, where Dr. Will Pentecost seems to be borrowing some of the leafy specimen’s energy….

Floating with Friends

The benefits of sauna go beyond the physical, and Seattle’s newest wellness experience—which glides around the waters of Lake Union—equally taps into the non-tangible positives.

It only took a few minutes to settle in before I knew—these are my people. I met Emma Griffith, one of the founders of Wild Haus Floating Saunas, on a crisp, clear, late-summer morning to chat about the project she helped start last January. In simple terms, the team of eight created two saunas on…

Dog of the Month: Charlie

A would-be space traveler with a complicated legal history.

Charlie is about 10 months old, though his foster parent describes him as an “old soul.” He loves being around people and other dogs, but his social calendar has been limited after an unfortunate encounter with a skunk before he was found just outside Yakima. He is also the recipient of a lifetime ban from…

The Neighborhood Gym Effect

Inside Seattle Strength and Performance’s small-group training model and welcoming approach to fitness.

On a regular Seattle Wednesday morning, a little wet and dreary, I walk into a small gym feeling unsure of what I’ve gotten myself into. It’s late January, a time when many New Year’s resolutions are failing and motivation to keep exercising may be going out the window. I work out consistently—lifting weights, going to…
