Practice: Eastside Pathology
Hospital affiliations: Evergreen Hospital Medical Center, Overlake Hospital Medical Center, Valley Medical Center
Medical degree: Shanghai Medical University

What’s one piece of advice that you wish patients would follow?
Go to your primary physician for annual examinations. Many malignant tumors are curable when diagnosed early.

With regard to your specialty, what are you most passionate about?

Making correct diagnoses [and] clearly communicating pathologic findings to clinical colleagues.

For a patient, what’s the most challenging aspect of being diagnosed with cervical or ovarian cancer?
Going through invasive procedures and other treatment methods that can significantly affect quality of life.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of your specialty?
To put a name to the problem. Our answer will guide clinical management. In perinatal pathology, a clear answer to what happened in the pregnancy does patients a great favor to ease their anxiety and stress.

The weathered, working boats stacked with gear, waiting for their next trip north, are striking, aren’t they? It’s hard, dangerous work, and there’s something so compelling and fierce about the…

Here’s what was served up recently in the Emerald City.

OK, we’ll say it—we love Seattle Restaurant Week, but it also gives us a little bit of anxiety and a lot of FOMO. There are just so many choices. Hundreds of restaurants, food carts, cafes, and bars can be a tad overwhelming, but 10? That’s a much more manageable number. Thankfully, Secret Seattle put together…
